ABOUT US

The mission of the SAA Theatre Department is to develop an understanding and appreciation of theatre performance and production by providing hands-on experiences, a structured working environment, and critiques to create well-rounded students who will grow intellectually, physically and skillfully into artists and adults. Theatre students have the opportunity to study and practice acting, musical theatre, directing, theatrical design, performance theory, dramaturgy, and stage management.  Students are encouraged to participate in the International Thespian Society and encouraged to build their skills through local community and professional productions.

 

By implementing hands-on curricular experiences, the program allows students the chance to develop skills through practice of the fundamentals of theatrical production while establishing a well-rounded and robust base of knowledge for students who wish to pursue careers in theatre.
